Crazy Storm

So, today is the first day I've had phone service and internet at my house since Wednesday, February 24. I know the whole country has been getting storms this year but this one kept us out of school for 3 days! It really did a number on the power companies. Our whole valley was without power off and on for a couple days. We lost it here for the first time right when Geoffrey was settling in for some quiet (and potentially sleep) time with Mickey Mouse. He had a major melt down and couldn't understand why things weren't working. We survived with puzzles and flashlights. (Shadow puppets on the bathroom wall while he did his business was his creative way of making the best of a dark situation.) This picture below is what my yard looked like at around 4 PM on day 1 of the storm.

We made this cute little snowman (with fruit loops and pretzel sticks) but then 5 minutes later he was buried.

These aren't the best photos but if you look close enough you'll see how happy he is in the snowbank.

We had an inservice day today, and town meeting tomorrow, so hopefully Wednesday I'll be back at school. I am just so thankful for a great family, D batteries for the lantern, a woodstove, and a grill on the porch. We survived...as did everyone else. Glad to be back in the blogger world today.
