Christmas Round #1 = KOHL's

So, I survived Concert #2 last Wednesday. It wasn't as good as the first one (see post below) but the kids had fun and my little 1st & 2nd graders won the attendance party for the second year in a row. I was so exhausted on Friday...all we did was watch movies and eat goodies...I'm ready for a salad!

We drove to Massachusetts last night to stay w/ Gordon's aunt & uncle. It also happened to be his cousin's 18th b-day. She just got accepted to college & she's leaving for Italy on Thursday! So, Gordon's parents joined us for breakfast this morning (pancakes, pumpkin-choco chip muffins, apricot/pineapple crescents, bacon, etc.). Geoffrey's not really into meals much these days so he was running around in circles screaming (yes, the high pitch is still around) so Gordon plopped him in the car and he finally fell asleep.....

...hoping he'd stay asleep we headed to Springfield to see Grandpa Jay. We brought him Chinese food for lunch and Gordon's cousin Ben joined us. Hannah & Jen couldn't come b/c they were baking cookies...but it was nice to see Ben for a bit. Anyways...Geoffrey didn't stay sleeping...he was awake squealing the whole time. He was stealing Bingo chips from little old ladies in wheel chairs, he was doing laps around the lobby w/ Jay's walker, he even decided to count the ornaments on the trees before pulling them off. So, after helping Jay open his gift (Red Sox Scrabble) we high-tailed it out of there...

...to head to Easthampton to the other Grandparents. Yes, we subjected a charming 2 yr old (close enough) to THREE Christmas gatherings in one day. Still working on a 45-minute nap...thankfully Lorraine showed him where she stashes to little kid toys. Here he is playing with a wagon of animals w/ Memere (Gordon's mom, MaryAnn).

He was asleep in the car driving around Greenfield so he didn't get to open his presents from Leanne & Fam....That is the biggest Farm animals book I've ever seen...and it's cardboard too so he can't completely ruin it. Thanks!

Here he is finally eating something. It was about 4 PM and all he'd had to eat all day was a few bites of a pancake and a fortune cookie. Great. So, they found him a banana and he actually sat down long enough to share it with Papa (Gordon's dad, Gary...who's enjoying his first day of being retired).

This is the photo project I was working on this week.
I found these little ornament frames at school from the book club. I was so excited b/c this is the last year the number 12 will be accurrate. By this time next year there will be 14 grandbabies...ranging in age from 22 years to 6 months. So, anyway...this is Grammy & Pepere's tree (ceremic). The ornaments had string for hanging or folds like a regular frame. So, each of the current grandbabies (or great-grandbabies in this case) are pictured sitting 'round the tree. They came out really great and everyone loved them, so thanks to the other moms for sending such great photos.

Well, that is end of Christmas day #1. Geoffrey helped eat 4 pieces of pizza as soon as we got home tonight and then went to bed w/o protest...as am I right now. Christmas day #2 starts tomorrow at 1 PM. HUGS to everyone for safe travels this weekend...and stay tuned...

OH WAIT!!!!!!
I just remembered the best part of the day....When we got off the highway tonight we called our pizza place and ordered a pizza (hence the G eating 4 pieces)...and stopped to pick it up on our way through. It was dinner w/ Santa night at the restaurant and no sooner did Gordon go in to retrieve our dinner then Santa came out of the restaurant! I quickly released G from his carseat and got all smiley. Santa noticed and came over to our truck...he talked to Geoffrey for a bit and then ran inside to grab him a gift. When Santa left G got sad and said, "Ho ho?" Then Santa came back with a monster truck for him. Now, everytime he sees the truck he says, "Ho Ho Ho!" It was the perfect ending to a crazy day! SMILES.
