Thanksgiving Adventure - Day 3

INDIANA HERE WE COME!!!!

Monday was spent driving over to Indiana to meet some my friends from IWU. We met Danielle (Walls) Freed (former suitemate, Croatia team member, etc.) and she road with us up to school to be our tour guide for the day.

Here we are standing in the lobby of our dorm. They added onto to the first floor so the lobby is NOT what it used to be. The new kitchen is like 5 times bigger! It was fun to walk down the hallway and see our old pictures hanging on the wall. Whew....time flies.

We went to the PPAC to see the other building where I used to live - the Music Building! My former suitemate, Christina (Carhartt) Huff, is an adjunct prof now so we spent some time with her before she left to go do an observation. She hasn't figured out how to take photos off her new digicam yet so I told her I'd put this one up. Geoffrey and Caleb will be friends in a brass band someday.

The tour continued into the athletic building to see another friend. After getting his souvenir for the day Geoffrey took off to go watch the guys play raquetball. My friend, Lynette Bowsher, is head of their outdoor training program now. She used to play trombone in Wind Ensemble way back in the day. Thanks for letting him have that piece of rope!

We had a great day walking around and seeing all the new buildings. We had lunch in the PIAZZA - there are real trees in there! It was nice to see the same flags hanging in the original main room though. I couldn't believe how crazy things are there now...kids have to ride bikes everywhere because it takes to long to walk from A to B. Thanks to Danielle for a great day. She was so patient with us and all our craziness. Come to Vermont soon!

Gordon though the sunset was awesome as we drove out of Marion. It's so flat out here that they just linger on forever. If it weren't so cloudy you could see all the colors of the rainbow. It's pretty cool.

We ended our crazy day with dinner at "Gas Grill" a truck stop somewhere near Indy. Geoffrey got to wear his new Wildcat bib. He LOVES green beans which works out well for Thursday.

There was snow when we got up Monday morning, it's been pretty chilly, but it's been sunny so it's fantastic. Hope everyone is having a great week so far!
